Modern wedding venues London/essex area?

My sister is getting married in 2009 and is currently looking for a venue for the ceremony and party. i was wondering if anybody knew of any modern hotels/venues etc. in London or Essex? Every venue seems to be old fashioned and too fussy, she's looking for a really trendy place. any ideas much appreciated!
