usually carpet down the aisle for the bride. flower petals. unity candle is nice. there is a circle arch kind of thing couple stands under that is nice when decorated with a few flowers. this can be elegant and simple with very few decorations or there can be bows/floral arrangements on each pew or candles from each pew / very pretty for a night wedding. the simplest of decorations can look great. the less stuff rented / the less that can go wrong / less stress and money too. i think keep it simple. LOL.

depends on what the church allows... Some allow candles and such others don't

Whats your style? Do you like fluffy white bows or are you more of a minimilist?

What's your budget?

What's the time frame? Will you have enough time to decorate the church get your hair done, decorate the hall ect.?

Are you going to hire someone to do it for you? Enlist family?

Some places for great ideas are www.theknot.com and www.weddingchannel.com

Hi and congratulations!

As a church secretary, the first thing that I advise you to do is to call the church and see what their policies are on decorations. Some churches are very strict ....other may not be. I know where I work, we only allow fresh flowers on the altar (not silks). I think you may be pushing it with an arch and columns. I have never seen that.

Usually what most couples do is to provide a vase of flowers for each side of the altar and do something to decorate the end of the pew (bow, tulle, etc.) and have an aisle runner. That is usually it!
