Any sugestions for a nontraditional wedding reception?
We are having a Nautical themed wedding and getting married on a boat docked at our 4 acres of riverfront property in a very lovely location. The reception will be held immediately following the vows on the property. We're not really into dancing and only want a reception that last 2-3 hours. Besides the sit down dinner and eating all the food we plan on having catered, and cutting the cake, what are some things we can do to pass the time. I'm worried it will be to boring. I wouldn't mind having background music and maybe a first dance, but what else can we do? ANY SUGGESTIONS AND THOUGHTS WOULD HELP! THANKS!!!!!!
I don't know. I was palning on getting off the boat saying hi to all the guests (about 100 people) and going right into the dinner. Should I have a cocktail hour? Maybe this would be a perfect time for the posed wedding pictures to be taken by the photographer.....
I just worried about my guests being bored since we're not plannig on having the traditional "party-time dancing" after dinner. I am open to making the reception last longer, if there is more to do.
