Our wedding is in the Spring of 09 and we have a seriously tight budget ($2500). We have found a reception venue that we can afford, but it doesn't look very nice. It has a low celing, white linoleum floors, white walls and no windows! Our wedding colours are gold, chocolate brown and peacock blue. I was thinking about putting peacock feathers into vases as centrepieces, but I'm stuck as to what else I can do to make the place look nicer!

Balloons are the cheapest filler for decor. Peacock feathers are a unique idea. You could do glass bowls with floating votive candles. Shop for gold ribbon, etc after Christmas '08 when it's on clearance. Be on the lookout for good deals as the year goes on.

Is there anyone you both know with a great backyard? That's how we are saving thousands!!

For table decorations, they have white rose petals at the dollar store-300 for $1..You can dye them in the colors of your wedding..gold would be very pretty. Also, they have bubbles for favors at the dollar store-12 for $1! You can make your own printable labels on any computer and then say something cute on them or your names and wedding date.
