Default Would it be considered awkward to show up to a wedding reception and not...

...be able to make it to the ceremony? I really want to go to my fiance's coworker's wedding but I have a saturday class that ends at 4:30pm. ..Would it be strange to show up at the reception and not the ceremony? ...I just don't wanna look like an idiot...even though I already feel like one by asking this question...

Most if not all weddings I go to only half of the guests show up to the ceremony. The couple will be so busy during that hour they probably won't notice who was there and who wasn't. Don't feel like an idiot, it normal.

Nah, I have did it before. Actually, I did it accidentally, because apparently I didn't get the memo that the time in the church bulletin was wrong, but alas.

I wouldn't bother mentioning it to the bride and groom, unless, it's something like, "I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the wedding, I had class," etc. Chances are they won't notice or care - they'll be happy you are there to celebrate their special day with them!

Not awkward at all. Many people skip the ceremony for one reason or another. Usually the couple expect it.

Don't even worry about it. Life happens.

Most people won't even notice. Certainly not the bride or groom.
