I was thinking of making my own wedding cake when I get married in a couple years. It looks easy enough if you have the right ingredients, and you can save yourself a ton of money. I consider myself to be pretty craft-oriented and organized, so I thought I'd get a book on how to make them and then go out and get all the pans and necessary ingredients for it and make my own. Think it's worth it?
It doesn't have to be an elaborate cake. You can make a simple, white cake and decorate it with fresh flowers. Why spend 1200 dollars on a cake when it costs about 70 to make it =)
