I am looking for new or unique ideas for wedding invitations. We will have a garden wedding, and I want to use calla lilies as my flowers. I want to make so unique invitations, even if it is only folded differently. Any ideas?

I think petal folders would be good for you. The four sides fold in on themselves, like flower petals. The invitation is inside. Nice way to compliment your calla lilies.

Perhaps a book on Japanese origami (paper folding) would help. You should be able to easily find one at a major bookstore like Barnes & Nobles or Borders.

Maybe making a swan with your name on one wing and your fiance's name on the other. When they unfold it they find the time and location and so on. This could get a little difficult to mail, so this may be too impractical. But it is an idea to get you started.

But I think origami books would help greatly here.

They are beautiful, and if you are crafty you could probably do them yourself. They sell boxes that look like this at my local Rag Shop. Print out nice invites and RSVPs etc and put them in colors that match your wedding. Its always important for your invitation to look nice, remember it is the first sight that people have of your wedding.
